Our very first-- a Dumont was like that. Reception was so poor my dad sent it back to the store. We had to wait another 2 years before getting a tall mast antenna and a somewhat larger screen. A great memory shot!
That's a very fancy unit! Ours had the same size screen, but without the cabinet. Love this photo!
